New England Central came about in the mid-1990's, operateing on ex-Central Vermont trackage. Trains travel from St Albans VT down into CT. Their yard in Palmer MA is an interesting place for photos as tracks also carry Mass Central, CSX, and Amtrak trains. An old Porter steam engine and New Haven coach sit by the yard near the old railroad station, which has been restored and offers great take-out food in the warm months, as well as dine-in meals.
