APRIL - Well folks, I am now the proud owner of an EAST PORTAL tower sign! Yup, I bought it at auction because I didn't go for the HOOSAC TUNNEL one last year. I would like to find a photograph showing this sign in place at the East Portal of Hoosac Tunnel. Until then, I will be 99% sure that is where this sign came from. I don't know of any other EAST PORTAL on the B&M! I also picked up two railroad lanterns. I think I have a new thing to collect, like I need anything else!!! I blame it on my boyfriend Todd and his brother Eric. They collect and I think it rubbed off... Anyhoo, looking foward to Chester on Track coming up this month! Watch this space!

9/4/06 - Today at Palmer MA we spotted the Amtrak Downeaster... which was a bit of a shock! Turns out the "cabbage" car (part cab-car, part baggage car) was on its way to the rebuilder. It has since returned to service in new paint.
11/4/06 - Today's Bow coal train was powered by one Guilford, one Norfolk Southern, and two Union Pacific engines! Here is the power running light at Guilford's East Deerfield yard (MA).
